Flip‑chip LED chips are installed upside‑down (emitting through the substrate) to boost light out‑coupling.


A reflective ring, or “dam,” surrounds chips, filled with phosphor-infused silicone that converts blue light to white and reflects stray photons.


The entire assembly is capped with a yellow Ce:YAG phosphor layer, sometimes in multiple controlled layers, and coated with silicone for protection.


Beneath lies a metal-core PCB (aluminum/ceramic) that delivers efficient heat removal directly to the heatsinks.
